Help support unhoused people in our community with knitwear to keep folks warm!
Join us at Robert Crown for a knit-a-thon! Chicagoland winters are cold — help support unhoused people in our community with knitwear to keep folks warm! We welcome knitting and crocheting, whether it's hats, scarves or gloves in solid or neutral colors to be given to Connections in mid-October. Yarn is available at the library to be used by needle-workers at the event, so don't worry about busting into your stash at home. Those that are unable to come to the knit-in are encouraged to donate at any time!
Connections for the Homeless has its annual warm clothing drive every fall; this year, it will be held on Saturday, November 9th. Last year, they served 600 people, including 50 children. Learn more about the organization and the resources available here.
