Join local author, Linda Gartz, to discuss the history of racially discriminatory housing practices in Chicago and the resulting devastating impact on the neighborhoods and residents involved.
Redlined deals with the subject of discriminatory housing from the view of a family with boots on the ground before, during, and after the racial transitions that took place in communities across the country. Linda Gartz' parents continued to care for their buildings in West Garfield Park, in what became a devastated neighborhood after the King riots in 1968, for almost three decades.
