We challenge you to design & code an 8-bit style video game. Grades 4-8.
The rules are simple. Design a video game using MakeCode Arcade, include core game elements, and submit it before December 5th. The more game elements you include the better your chances you can win the best prizes. Never designed a video game before? We got you covered. Check out the 8-Bit Challenge YouTube Channel for 20+ video tutorials. We will also host live stream tutorials every Saturday from October 17th – December 5th. Anyone who submits a game before the deadline will be entered into a prize raffle. The more gaming elements you include in your game the better prizes you can win. We will feature the top games, celebrate all participants, and pick raffle winners in a citywide live stream showcase on December 12th. Grades 4-8.
