The law change occurred with the passage of SB 1863 signed by the Governor on June 16, 2020. The new law changed the way voters can vote this election cycle only relative to the COVID-19 pandemic. It allows for any voter to request a mail-in ballot (also called Absentee ballot). The law also declares 11/3/2020 as an official State holiday (schools, post office, etc closed).
