Create your own Flappy Bird video game in Scratch with Power Up Tech Academy.
If you love to play video games, it's time to learn how to make your own, with the power of Coding! In this beginner level class, a Power Up Tech Academy instructor will show you step by step how to use the Scratch coding language to design and build your first video game - inspired by the classic Flappy Bird. Along the way, you will learn important coding ideas like "if" statements and "repeat" loops and variables. You will also be able to express your own creative ideas to make something that is uniquely yours!
This class will run over Zoom and we'll use Scratch, a free, browser-based coding program that runs on any type of computer.
Registration is required, begins on January 11, 2021 and is open to Evanston residents only. The class is limited to 6 kids in grades 3-5. Zoom link will be sent out before the program.
