Enjoy this virtual visit with award-winning author/illustrator Cozbi A. Cabrera. She will talk about her books and lead participants through a craft!
Note: This event is currently at full capacity. Thank you so much.
Spend a special Sunday afternoon with Evanston author/illustrator Cozbi A. Cabrera, who received a 2021 Caldecott Honor and a 2021 Coretta Scott King Illustrator Honor for her beautiful book Me & Mama. She received another 2021 Coretta Scott King Illustrator Honor plus a 2021 Sibert Honor for her art in the deeply moving Gwendolyn Brooks picture book biography Exquisite (written by Suzanne Slade).
Her books My Hair Is a Garden and Exquisite appeared on Evanston Public Library's 101 Great Books for Kids lists!
Enjoy a chance to hear Cozbi talk about her art, read from her stories, and share her love for quilting and crafts. She will lead participants through a special craft project that is perfect for the whole family! (Instructions about picking up supplies coming soon!) Consider inviting grandparents, grandchildren, & neighbors to this accessible, intergenerational program.
Books by Cozbi can be purchased at Evanston's very own independent children's book store Booked.
Recommended for Grades K to 5, but all family members will enjoy!
When registering please provide a correct email address. An email with a Zoom link will be sent out to registrants.
