Former Evanstonian and ETHS grad Jeffrey Bishop talks with Alexander Wind about his YA novel A HEAVY DOSE OF ALLISON TANDY.

We are delighted to be a partner of Bookends & Beginnings Bookstore who will host author and former Evanstonian Jeffrey Bishop for the release of his YA novel A Heavy Dose of Allison Tandy, described by Chloe Gong, New York Times bestselling author of These Violent Delights, as “Wildly entertaining and heart-wrenching all at once. Between an admirably snarky apparition and the chaos of graduating high school, A Heavy Dose of Allison Tandy is perfectly tumultuous in the way only the teenage experience can be.”

Join us in the lovely Bookends & Beginnings courtyard as Jeff talks to Alexander Wind, his friend since their school days at Haven and ETHS, about Bishop’s highly anticipated debut novel, the films of John Hughes, and why Evanston makes the perfect setting for YA fiction.

Jeffrey Bishop is a debut author, an inside boy, and not to be trusted. According to his exes, he is the “Expert in Healthy Relationships.” (Do not vet that). Jeff uses humor to mask his fear of vulnerability. He lives in Los Angeles.

Alexander Wind is a graduate of The University of Illinois College of Medicine. He is also friends with Jeff Bishop. The latter is the most impressive thing about him.
