Join in the fun of this portable, social art making. You’ll leave with several finished sketches. No previous sketching experience needed - all skill levels welcome. Materials will be provided.
Sherry Smith fell in love with urban sketching in January 2020 and has been sketching every day since. She is a member of several sketching and art groups in the Chicago and Evanston area. Examples of her sketches were displayed at the Urban Sketchers Chicago Symposium 2022. Her Evanston-based sketches were exhibited at a local coffeeshop and represented in the EvanstonMade popup store. She regularly posts her sketches on Instagram under @evanstonsherry .
This program is for adults age 55 and older.
The Robert Crown Branch Library, located inside the Robert Crown Community Center, was opened in early 2020 to extend library services out into walking distance of some of Evanston's most diverse and historically underserved neighborhoods. The branch features a computer bar, laptop loaning, study rooms and a community meeting room, an expanded Spanish-language collection and bilingual staff, an outdoor reading garden, and dozens of programs each month for children, teens and adults.
