Northwestern Community Health Corps' - Red Cross Training program offers CPR/First Aid/AED training sessions for interested individuals
This training has an online portion (to be completed before the in-person instruction) and in-person instruction led by Red Cross-certified Northwestern student instructors. Upon successful completion of the training, you will receive a Red Cross - verified certificate confirming your ability to accurately perform the life-saving tasks. This training offers:
Blended Learning Course Format
The blended learning course is divided into two sessions: an online session and then a subsequent in-person, instructor-led course (given by Northwestern students who are Red Cross - certified instructors). Participants are required to complete the online session prior to the in-person training.
Adult First Aid/CPR/AED Training
The training is a synthesis and skills review of the online portion of the blended learning session. This includes emergency action steps, giving chest compressions and breaths, using an AED, responding to choking, and caring for life-threatening bleeding for adults.
Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Training
The training is a synthesis and skills review of the online portion of the blended learning session. This includes the same skills as above, but with the added pediatric component. Caring for pediatric cases require different procedures, and this will be reviewed in the in-person instruction.
