Bring your toddler or preschooler to Misericordia Hearts of Readers for a weekly storytime and activity, led by Misericordia residents! Misericordia provides housing and care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, with a mission of maximizing independence, self-determination, and engagement with the wider community. During Hearts of Readers storytimes, Misericordia residents will select and read books and lead activities for preschoolers and toddlers, inspiring a new generation of readers and building positive connections between children and people of all abilities.
The Main library is an epicenter of information and the various forms of literacy. Its assets expand beyond books, audiobooks and DVDs to include public Internet stations and building-wide Wi-Fi, arts performances and displays, author presentations, financial and immigration programs, and much more. The Main Library is the primary focus of our absolute and continuous commitment to meeting the diverse expectations and needs of Evanston residents.
