Come explore faraway fantasy lands for treasure and triumph through a variety of tabletop roleplaying games!
Come explore faraway fantasy lands for treasure and triumph through a variety of tabletop roleplaying games like Crash Pandas, Honey Heist and other fantasy one-shots like Dungeons and Dragons. Please note: Dungeons and Dragons will not be the entire focus on the club, so do not sign up for this club expecting only D&D adventures. Here, we will teach participants how to make characters, roleplay, keep track of stats and have a great time playing and exploring new worlds through a variety of games. Through these meetings, we hope to help teach critical skills that will eventually help folks learn how to successfully play and run their own D&D games.
Why one-shots instead of campaigns?
One-shots are the perfect way to learn how to participate in RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons without committing to a long campaign. They can also encourage young people to listen, build empathy, and find other avenues for navigating conflict. These programs are especially for new and first-time tabletop roleplayers who may not have had experience with these kinds of games.
If this sounds like something you'd like, join us! (For 3-5th graders ONLY)
Also please note that registration is limited due to the amount of Game Moderators we have at this time. If the club is full, add your name to the waitlist to get notified about future meetings!
The Robert Crown Branch Library, located inside the Robert Crown Community Center, was opened in early 2020 to extend library services out into walking distance of some of Evanston's most diverse and historically underserved neighborhoods. The branch features a computer bar, laptop loaning, study rooms and a community meeting room, an expanded Spanish-language collection and bilingual staff, an outdoor reading garden, and dozens of programs each month for children, teens and adults.
