Sewing and community service! Beginners welcome. Grades 6-12.
If you're looking for a meaningful community service opportunity to make change and give back this Spring Break, come sew with us! Also, if you would like to be registered as a "Loft Sewer," and gain permission to use the sewing machines in the Loft unsupervised on Tuesdays and Thursdays for drop-in sewing, please come to this event to show us your skills.
Join us in the Multipurpose Room at the Robert Crown Branch 4:00-6:00pm to help create reusable sanitary pads for the Girls 4 Girls Ghana organization. Did you know that more than 20% of girls miss school due to lack of supplies for menstrual cycles? Let's help change this! All materials will be provided including scissors and sewing equipment. There are a lot of jobs for everyone but sewers are strongly encouraged to attend! Grades 6-12.

The Robert Crown Branch Library, located inside the Robert Crown Community Center, was opened in early 2020 to extend library services out into walking distance of some of Evanston's most diverse and historically underserved neighborhoods. The branch features a computer bar, laptop loaning, study rooms and a community meeting room, an expanded Spanish-language collection and bilingual staff, an outdoor reading garden, and dozens of programs each month for children, teens and adults.
