Shibori is a Japanese manual tie-dyeing technique that can be traced back in historical records to 238 CE, while the earliest preserved example of this fabric was created in the mid-8th century. We will integrate contemporary tie-dyeing processes with traditional Shibori dyeing techniques.
Ruthe Guerry is an art therapist and practicing artist. Her passion for developing inquiry-based, creative programming through a therapeutic lens, is informed by her training in dementia care, Masters degree in Art Therapy and Counseling and years of experience working with older adults as a caregiver and clinician. Ruthe weaves her personal experience as an herbalist, meditator and maker into programs that focus on whole person wellness.
