The Evanston Public Library Science Fiction & Fantasy Book Group will meet online and in person for our 9th annual New Year, New Books recommendations meeting.
It is time for our 9th Annual New Year, New Books meeting! This annual event is a fun and special tradition for our group. There is no assigned book for the group to read and discuss. Instead, you are the stars of the show! This meeting invites every attendee to come with the names and authors of 1-2 Sci Fi or Fantasy (SFF) books that you would like to recommend to your fellow science fiction and fantasy fans, along with a brief description and why you are recommending them. These can be a new book you read this year that you are excited to talk about, or a favorite from the past that you don't think enough people know about - it's entirely up to you!
This will be another hybrid meeting! This meeting will take place in both the Falcon Room on the 3rd Floor of the Main Library, as well as on Zoom. You can register for this event here, either the online or in person option. For those who will be gathering in person, we will have some snacks and beverages available!
Group leader Lorena will perform her customary duties and take notes on all of the suggested books, so that you can sit back and enjoy without worrying about keeping track of everything. (A list of everything we have ever read as a group is also on this site, if you would like to refer to that...just keep scrolling down the page for wonders upon wonders!)
