Last year, the IPCC and the U.S. National Climate Assessment both warned of the serious dangers posed if the world doesn’t act swiftly to curb the emissions that cause climate change.
The the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) said the world needs to cut emission in half by 2030 to avoid temperature rise of more than 1.5 degrees C/2.7 degrees F. Meanwhile, countries agreed on plans to move ahead with the Paris Agreement, the landmark global accord on climate. Cities, states and businesses around the world are ramping up their action. Evidence continues to mount of the economic and social benefits of taking action.
