Create some cute back-to-school accessories! Come pick up a September Sewing Kit at either library location 9/14 - 9/30 or while supplies last!
This month in SewFly is back-to-school! Come pick up a kit from the Teen Loft or our Robert Crown Branch Library, through the end of September or while supplies last.
The kit includes: fabric, felt, velcro, buttons, pins, and a needle and thread, if you need them. If you need sewing scissors or a sewing machine, those are available by request at the Teen Loft.
If you'd like some assistance with the project, or any other sewing project you're working on, we have drop-in sewing times on Sunday's 12:30-3pm, and Thursday's 5:30-7:30pm in the Teen Loft at the Main Library with Morgan and Elacsha.
These drop-in sessions are highly recommended for someone who doesn't know how to sew on a machine and would like to learn. If you would like to check out a machine, but don't know how to use one, we will direct you to come to one of these sessions. A staff tutorial is required to check out a sewing machine, as well as filling out an Equipment Loan Agreement. Parents may not complete the tutorial on behalf of their teen - teens must be present at the Loft to take home a machine. At this time, sewing machine check-out for use at home is not being offered through the Robert Crown Branch Library.
This is the tutorial we will be following and the supplies you'll need if you're not picking up a kit!
