November's Story Star features the book Sprouting Wings: The True Story of James Herman Banning, the First African American Pilot to Fly Across the United States by Louisa Jaggar and Shari Becker, illustrated by Floyd Cooper. Along with reading the story (either the full text or an abridged version for our littler guests), families can try their hands with paper airplanes, working with tools, and a Sprouting Wings-inspired suncatcher craft!
Best for ages 3.5 & up.
Available in the Main Library Children's Room for the month of November.
