Holiday Candles

Create a cute gift to share! Come pick up a December Kit at either library location from 12/1 through 1/3 or while supplies last!

This month is all about the holidays! We hope you learn a little more about all the different traditions going on this time of year, and do some fun crafting along the way! Come pick up a kit from the Teen Loft or our Robert Crown Branch Library, from December 1st through January 3rd or while supplies last. We think there is nothing better than sharing a little light during the darkest part of the year, so come get a kit to decorate a candle - and give it as a gift! 

All throughout the world, people celebrate this season in diverse and beautiful ways. Here are some great links to learn about some different holidays that folks may be celebrating all around you!

More traditions you may not have heard of!

Each kit includes: a candle, ribbons, trinkets, one hot glue gun and extra glue. One kit per teen. Please return the hot glue gun to the Teen Loft. 

These are the supplies you'll need if you're not picking up a kit!

Supplies: 

A candle (with a jar - very important for fire safety! You can also do this activity with any clean jar, and just add a small candle in later)
Ribbons (whatever length is suited for your project)
Trinkets, ornaments, etc. to add to the candle jar
Scissors
Hot glue gun (remember to work on a safe surface, with a piece of paper under the glue gun to catch drips)
Additional hot glue sticks
Someone to give the candle to as a gift (or you can keep it if you really love it haha)
