Join us for a special presentation of The Chicago Bar Association’s Law at the Library program, Know Your Rights: Book Bans and the Law. In honor of the 150th Anniversary of the CBA, the CPL and the EPL, we are offering a special session featuring a discussion on book banning with the State’s Librarian, Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias. Circuit Court Judge Robert F. Harris will host the discussion and moderate an audience Q & A. The program will be offered in-person at the Harold Washington Library's Cindy Pritzker Auditorium, with online viewing options available. The auditorium doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Masks are strongly encouraged in all CPL locations. The Chicago Bar Association, in partnership with the Evanston Public Library and Chicago Public Library, curates an annual year-long legal education program to answer questions and provide practical resources and insights into today's most pressing legal issues. Each Law At The Library program features a presentation by an experienced attorney, followed by a brief question and answer session. All events are free, open to the public, and conducted via Zoom unless otherwise noted.
