We’ll review what you’ll need to know to be prepared for the stellar event, including how to view the Sun safely!
On April 8th, our Moon will cross in front of our Sun causing a total solar eclipse to streak across the nation. From our view in Chicago, ~94% of the Sun will be covered, while parts of Southern Illinois and Indiana will experience 100% coverage in what’s called the Path of Totality. The next solar eclipse in the US will not be for another 20 years, so don’t miss out!
We’ll review what you’ll need to know to be prepared for the stellar event, including how to view the Sun safely! A limited number of free solar glasses will be available. If the sky is clear, we will also have some guided stargazing. If the sky is clouded, we will review the spring night sky using online resources.
