February session topic: Deconstructing the "Man Box"- addressing unhealthy expectations aimed at boys and men and exploring which qualities make a "good man"
Boys Can Be is a positive masculinity multi-session program for boy-identifying 4th and 5th graders. Through discussions, role playing, ice breakers, STEAM activities, and book talk presentations, boys will grow in their understanding of and comfort with healthy communication, emotional awareness, and respect for self and others! This program is made possible through a grant given by Rotary Club of Evanston, aimed at "building a more peaceful Evanston through programs to reduce hateful speech and intolerance."
Registration is open to Evanston residents and District 65 students. Participants are welcome to register for any or all session in the program series. Registration is required for each session.
The City of Evanston is committed to promoting a Citywide culture of accessibility and inclusivity. To request an accommodation for a program, service, or activity, please call 847-866-2919 to make an ADA service request or fill out a request form online.
