Join the Evanston Public Library and Lauren Marquez-Viso of Citizens´Greener Evanston, for a discussion on our changing climate, its causes, and how scientists are on a quest to better understand it.
Please join the Evanston Public Library as we kick off our Climate Resilient Communities Series. During the first quarter of 2021 we will partner with different organizations to explore Climate Change, its intersection with race and gender, as well as the many ways in which we can take action to mitigate its effects, become resilient to its impacts, and celebrate our amazing planet.
In our inaugural event, Lauren Marquez-Viso Vice-President of Citizens' Greener Evanston, co-Chair of the City's former CARP Working Group, environmentalist, photographer and explorer will lead a lively discussion around the film Decoding the Weather Machine:
"I think Decoding the Weather Machine provides an exciting and very clear look at the incredible and diverse scientific methodologies behind climate science and the dedicated and talented scientists behind them. It takes us on site to diverse locales throughout the globe where this important work is happening. The study of our earth's climate is truly a global effort undertaken by brave, intelligent and innovative people. The film delves into the diverse array of scientific techniques that help us understand weather patterns and decipher earth's climate, past and present. It cuts through the confusion and presents the science and analysis of scientific research in clear and engaging ways."
