Enjoy a virtual visit with local children's author/poet/activist/educator Zetta Elliott! Her many works have received acclaim, accolades and awards. She is the author of the powerful and inspiring A Place Inside of Me: A Poem to Heal Your Heart, which received a 2021 Caldecott Honor for illustrator Noa Denmon, and Bird, which received the Coretta Scott King John Steptoe for New Talent Award for illustrator Shadra Strickland. Many of her books have appeared on many Notable and best of lists, including Evanston Public Library's very own 101 Great Books for Kids list. She is also nominated for the international 2022 Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award!
She will talk about her beloved Dragons in a Bag series (which includes Dragons in a Bag and The Dragon Thief) and celebrate the upcoming release of a brand new Dragons book! Listen to a great author and poet speak about the power of storytelling. Books by Zetta can be purchased at Evanston's very own independent children's book store Booked.
