EPL welcomes Ebere Agwuncha back for some more design-focused fun! (For 3-6th Graders)
Join Evanston Public Library for a series of Art Talks where we invite artists from all mediums to come discuss their design process. This month, Ebere Agwuncha joins again us for a brand new online workshop, geared to explore the design process through a series of STEM challenges.
So, if you came to the first one, don't worry, this one is completely different!
Ebere Agwuncha (b.1997, Chicago) is a designer, maker and artist currently based in Chicago via Nigeria She earned an Industrial Design degree from Iowa State University in 2019, and has since been working on several interdisciplinary projects extending into community building, space activation and care advocacy. they are currently a part of the place keeping initiative - in c/o: Black women as a contributor, facilitator, and designer. She has also worked with local groups including Norman Teague Design Studios, ‘Mobilize! Creative Blocks, Collective Dreams’, Alt_, Okpara House, and The Buxton Initiative. Ebere is now adapting an artistic practice involving ‘care filled object(s)’ while channeling an Igbo-Nigerian heritage. With a hands based practice in the mediums of wood and ceramics, she aims to preserve Igbo stories through more expansive iterations using old and new techniques to craft speculative installations activated with hybrid rituals.
