Join us for a virtual discussion of the original Western.
Set in Wyoming Territory, The Virginian depicts the loneliness and challenge of an unknown land where the whistle of a freight train sounds across great miles of silence, where easy camaraderie—and sudden violence—are found around the campfire, and where the rough honesty of “frontier justice” is just beginning to impose a sense of society on an unruly populace.
Our January book will be Owen Wister's Western "The Virginian." Our meeting will take place on Monday January 31st at 6:30 pm. City Lit director Terry McCabe will join us to discuss City Lit's adaptation of the Western classic. We are partnering with City Lit Theater to see their stage adaptation.
* In light of the recent COVID surge, the discussion has moved to Zoom. Patrons are welcome to attend the play according to their own comfort. Attendance of the play is not necessary to attend the book discussion on the 31st.*
