Unlock the Secrets to Radiant, Healthy Hair and Boost Your Self-Esteem!
Join Evanston Public Library and Yeefah Thurman on Sunday, May 26, from 3:30pm - 5:30pm for National Crown Day at Evanston Public Library in celebration and preparation for National Crown Day on July 3, 2024! This event will educate and address the hair discrimination against BIPOC, specifically Black people, define the importance of the National Crown Act, and will be able to sign the national petition pushing for policy change. With the assistance of professional hair care specialists, such as curly hair specialist, loctician, barber, hair stylist, and skin care expert, participants get to learn from a panel of hair experts, experience a mini hair show to highlight the panelists' creativity and expertise, and receive a very brief hair consultation. Participants will have the opportunity to share their own individual stories and/or hair care journeys. This event will also showcase Black-owned hair care products and participants will be entered in a raffle to win some hair care freebies!
