Communicable diseases are infectious diseases that are spread from person to person.
The City of Evanston Health & Human Services Department (HHS) and the Evanston Public Library will be hosting a health & wellness table with a focus on communicable diseases, mostly focusing on STIs and HIV.
HHS will be providing free and affirming safer sex supplies that will be free to our residents. The library is where community members gather for information and resources. It is also an ideal space for health promotion. This event will help to remove the barriers traditionally associated with seeking medical care involving sexual health help.
Items that will be available:
Condoms
Lubricants
Dams
Educational Resources
STI/HIV risk reduction counseling
Contraceptive Education
