Genie Albina, former District 65 teacher, Earth Week Environmental Curriculum lead and Parent Coach will show us how to bring compassion, understanding and action to this important conversation.
Climate change is one of those topics that is both critical to talk about with our kids and also terrifying to bring up. Will I scare them if we talk about climate change? Will they lose hope? Are they too young to understand? All of these are questions that we will address together in this virtual session, How to Talk to Children about Climate Change.
Since every family is different, we will take the time to share ideas about how to discuss climate change, how our childrens’ ages, personalities and development factor into these conversations, and then make a plan to talk about this important topic at home. Come prepared with your curiosity!
If you want to start the conversation prior to this event, check out this article.
Masks are not mandatory but EPL highly encourages its use during in person events.
What is a Climate Action Program?
Climate Action Programs are presentations, workshops and other events that promote awareness over the need to take action in order to reduce our carbon footprint. We aim to make Climate Action accessible and engaging to everybody by providing fun programs that spark curiosity and a desire to take better care of ourselves and our planet.
