In this hands-on workshop, bike mechanic Liam Ouweleen from Wheel & Sprocket Evanston will show us how to get our bike ready for spring. Bring your bike and leave ready to ride!
We’ve all been there. It’s the first warm day of the year, the city has come alive, the streets are filled with people, and you are itching to get outside and explore. So you dig up your bike from the hole you buried it in for the winter, only to find the tires deflated, the chain squeaky, and the brakes rubbing! What gives?
This spring bike workshop will teach you how to get your bike ready to ride this spring. We aim to give you the fundamental skills for basic bike maintenance so that you never have to miss that first spring day.
In this workshop we will cover:
Understanding these simple skills will not only cover most bike repairs, but will also empower you to maintain your bike in mint condition, increasing it’s lifespan. Riding a bike is a fun, green, and cost effective way to get around, and with gas prices continuing to rise, there has never been a better time to become an empowered bicycle owner.
