How to interpret tarot cards through an astrological lens
Astrology and tarot can both be used to better understand ourselves and the world around us. Many Tarot cards are associated with zodiac signs and planets, and many Tarot readers use astrology to enhance their readings. In the last event of the Divination Series, we will dive into the relationship between Tarot and astrology, connecting the major themes from the previous two classes. During the event, attendees will learn about the Tarot cards and their astrological counterparts, and how to use these new interpretations to enhance their card reading practice. This event is best for those with some background knowledge about Tarot and astrology, and/or those who attended the previous two events in the series.

The Divination Series: Divination is the practice of gaining insight on matters of the past, present, and future through interpretations of powers outside of ourselves. Divination is used to develop a better understanding of oneself and one's relationship with the world. Two of the most popular forms of divination are tarot and astrology. The series will provide an introduction to both divination practices through 3 one-hour long classes. Through the class, attendees will discover new tools to deepen their intuition and connection to the stars.
Brooke Strodder is an emerging diviner, with a focus on traditional Western astrology and tarot. Introduced to astrology as a child, she began to deepen her astrological knowledge in 2016. Her study of tarot started in 2019. Practicing divination, she seeks to help others identify the strengths and challenges they might experience, and channel that energy into ways that lead to improved intuition and decision making.
The Robert Crown Branch Library, located inside the Robert Crown Community Center, was opened in early 2020 to extend library services out into walking distance of some of Evanston's most diverse and historically underserved neighborhoods. The branch features a computer bar, laptop loaning, study rooms and a community meeting room, an expanded Spanish-language collection and bilingual staff, an outdoor reading garden, and dozens of programs each month for children, teens and adults.
