Did you know that Martin Luther King Jr. Day is the National Day of Service? If you're looking for a meaningful community service opportunity to make change and give back, check out the Evanston Public Library. Join us in the Community Room at the Main Branch 11:00 am-2:00 pm to help create reusable sanitary pads for the Girls 4 Girls Ghana organization. More than 20% of girls miss school due to lack of supplies for menstrual cycles. All materials will be provided including scissors and sewing equipment. There are a lot of jobs for everyone but sewers are also strongly encouraged to attend! For grades 5th-12th and adults. If you can't make it, no worries, we welcome people to stop by and show their care with underwear and sanitary napkins. Donations are welcomed from now till MLK Day.
