Let's learn why winter sowing makes sense in our cold climate by creating our own mini greenhouse. Supplies will be provided - bring your curiosity and gardening gloves!
Winter sowing is a way of season extension for gardeners who live in colder climates where the ground may be frozen for many months. In this workshop, Leslie Shad from Natural Habitat Evanston will share with us how to create our own mini greenhouse, as well as provide us with expert tips and tricks on how to make our seeds sprout successfully in the Spring.
We will be sowing these native plants, and learning more about their importance for our communities and ecosystems.
Please bring your own empty milk jug or your mixed greens salad container to plant your seeds.
