MONET LIVES! is an intimate, one-hour presentation “as if” Claude Monet came back to life and told stories of his struggles, obsessions, and triumphs.
Jim Parks was a painter/drawer all through school, but when it came time to make a living, show-biz called, he abandoned the paintbrushes and went to sing & dance on Chicago stages. Soon he migrated into a long career as one of the city’s busier voice-over talents...eventually becoming the on-air host of the remodeling show New Spaces on HGTV. At the end of the TV stint, the art muse awoke and called him to convert the dining room of his home into a painting studio. He was producing the art that had been sitting there, unexpressed, all his adult years.
Now he has merged his two careers into MONET LIVES! …Where Claude Monet himself has "risen from the dead" to tell his story of Impressionism: The emotional ups and downs, life in the booming Paris of the 1800s, and an unwavering devotion to capture a moment of Nature’s beauty.
