Whether you plan to attend the Evanston Folk Fest or not, be sure to join us for this folk-centered, educational family event!
In partnership with Space's weekend-long Evanston Folk Festival, we will show the 22 minute documentary "Uncovering the History of the Banjo with Rhiannon Giddens: From African Roots to American Music." And then stick around to hear different folk instruments demonstrations and try your hand at strumming a chord or two!
This is a drop-in event, however no more than 100 people can be accommodated in the space. So be sure to arrive early to line up outside of the room. During the program there will be the opportunity to enter a free drawing for a pair of Sunday tickets!
For ages 6 and up!
